f there's one thing that can be said among UniKL staff and student, it's that they don't lack concern for the environment. For example, UniKL BMI had launched its special green effort namely ‘Greening the Campus Project' on January 12, 2012. The project was part of the UniKL BMI strategy, which specifically works to make the campus have ecologically sound buffers while also preserving important campus view sheds. It also will create more habitats for native organisms and make the campus even more beautiful than it already is. UniKL BMI Dean, Prof. Dr. Badri Abu Bakar in his opening speech stressed the importance of safeguarding the environment, particularly in addressing the environmental crisis. He said continuous efforts should be done from time to time. According to him, this only the initial steps to cultivate the commitment to sustainability and green efforts among staff and student of UniKL BMI. Via this special project also, it shows that there is a cross-collaboration among student and staff of the campus in sustainability and green efforts. On that day, a total of 50 trees have been planted at seven key areas around the campus and this project will continue in the future.
