KUALA LUMPUR, 18 July 2016- Universiti Kuala Lumpur officially launched the UniKL Business School which was held in grand fashion at the newly refurbished UniKL Business School Campus at Jalan Gurney, Kuala Lumpur. The launching was done by YB Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Minister in the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.
The establishment of UniKL Business School is in line with MARA's education policy, which emphasises on global education in technical, vocational and entrepreneurial education amongst Malaysians. UniKL Business School offers unique and specialised programmes which focuses on market needs in the field of finance and business.
YB Dato' Sri Ismail in his officiating speech said, "Education is one of the sectors identified by the government in the National Key Economic Areas (NKEA). Within this area, there are several clusters chosen as part of the Economic Transformation Programme which includes Islamic Finance and Business. With this development, I believe UniKL Business School has all the potential to act as a catalyst to the growth of finance and business education in the country."

The UniKL Business School campus is equipped with world class teaching and learning facilities including a 'Financial Simulation Lab' where it uses the world recognised Bloomberg platform. It is also fitted with ‘Entrepreneurial Business Lab', where real-world business incubators provide students with the exposure to actual real life business scenarios. The Entrepreneurial Business Lab also offers assistance and mentorship programmes to young entrepreneurs during the most critical start-up period when they are most vulnerable.
Besides world class facilities and training, UniKL programmes are accredited by local and global professional bodies such as the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators or MAICSA, Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia or IBFIM and also Association of Chartered Certified Accountants or ACCA to name a few. UniKL also forms partnerships and collaboration with leading institutions and organisations both in and out of the country to raise the level of education in the country. All these are testament to the high standard and quality which UniKL Business School sets upon itself.

The launching ceremony also saw UniKL's parent company, MARA, organising their Hari Raya celebration event which saw the presence of honourary guests, foreign dignitaries, partners, staff and invited guests. The event also witnessed the handing-over of Hari Raya contributions to children from the Anak-anak Yatim MARA which were presented by Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri himself.
