International Student Exchange Mobility (ISEM)


ISEM is a new financially supported incentive recently launched by MARA (Sponsorship Division) for MARA Sponsored students to participate in the International Student Exchange Mobility (ISEM) programs for duration of one or two semester with partner universities as a host.

"International Student Exchange Mobility (ISEM) is a programme that initiates the exchange of students between two institutions for one or two semester(s) of study at the host university (abroad) that usually allows credit transfer to the existing degree programme in the student's home university. This exchange will provide the student with the academic experience that benefits his/her programme of study students"

 Criteria Set-up by MARA:

  • - Bachelor Degree Level
  • - Duration of mobility: 1-2 Semester at the host university
  • - Period of exchange: in Sem 6, 7 or 8
  • - Credit Transfer from host university, endorsed by UniKL
  • - Eligibility: CGPA 3.5 and above
  • - Flight Ticket and subsistence allowance provided
  • - Placement at UniKL's university partners (with tuition fees waived)

During the implementation of this mobility, students can follow a number of teaching methods and activities as follows:

  • a) Following related studies class modules, including sit-class exams.
  • b) To conduct a research project or technical project year end
  • c) Engage in activities that provides co-curricular international exposure of cultures.

‘Honestly speaking the lecturers in Cardiff University is very helpful and friendly. Even we are Muslim and wearing hijab, they still respect us. If we have a problem in terms of the subject and coursework, there are able to spend their time to discuss with us, but the lecturer more prefer to make the appointment first.'
